BRIDESMAIDS
My relationship with Meg blossomed freshman year as I became close with one of the only blondes in D Phi E! Watch out Ky, Meg is a close runner up for the best roomy award, as we lived together for 6 years! Meg has been a very consistent, reliable friend who will still be there for me even after endless pranks. When I see/talk to Meg, it is as if no time has passed.
Lara brought me into her friend group at Tripp Lake Camp and we quickly became best buds. We attended Michigan together, lived in the same dorm and joined the same sorority! Lara and I always have mischievous fun together, and I can always count on her for a great laugh. Lara always gives me the best, honest advice. As fellow social workers, we make a dangerous pair!
Dana and I met at Tripp Lake Camp, but we spent several summers together as roomies exploring New York City. We also went to Israel for the first time together! Dana and I visit each other several times a year to reminisce on memories, relax and explore the popular foodie scenes. Dana has always taught me valuable “intellectual” life lessons, such as how to tip 20% on a check!
My relationship with Stef started as we locked eyes during a very boring Master’s in Social Work Class. We became fast friends as Stef invited me to join happy hours and social events. We have spent many nights grilling, watching our beloved Michigan and Detroit sport teams, exploring the food scene, and spending time together in Northern Michigan.
Caroline (BF) and I met when we were thirteen and I was the new, awkward camper at Tripp Lake. Our camp friends have reunited almost every summer in Maine for a fun filled reunion weekend. We also spent summers interning together in NYC. Caroline is my makeup guru, my fashion police, and Motown diva-dancer.
Meg is the best sister-in-law I could ask for! I have been able to be part of Meg’s life and see her grow up, which has been very special. Meg always beats me in the Polack card game, Onzie, and has always been a good sport when I end up threatening her. The best part about Meg as a sister-in-law is free braces one day!
GROOMSMEN
Adam came into my life June 1, 1992 when he had the audacity to take away my status as an only child. As it turns out, that day brought me an amazing brother and friend for life. We had an incredible childhood, growing up in the same room and spending a ton of time playing video games and street hockey together. Although I do forgive him for attending MSU, I will probably never get over the time he kicked down my Lego castle and lost a key piece!
Dave and I met at the age of 3 as part of the neighborhood playgroup. We spent our childhood living down the street from one another until one tragic day when Dave moved 2.5 miles away! Fortunately, our friendship stayed strong and we became roommates freshman year at U of M. We joined Pi Kappa Phi but spent way too much time studying for degrees in Nuclear Engineering.
Michael lived two doors down from me freshman year in Markley Hall. We took our relationship to the next level as sophomore roommates at Pi Kappa Phi. We have spent the past 9 years kicking it in Ann Arbor and enjoy spending our summers attending beer festivals, smoking meat, and heading to his hometown of Grand Haven for the Annual Coast Guard Festival.
I met Evan freshman year while rushing Pi Kappa Phi. Evan is always ready to have a good time, whether it is waking up at the crack of dawn to hit the golf course or bringing his entire family tubing down the Huron River. Although he likes to think of himself as a Scrooge, his unique personality is always bringing smiles to the faces of those around him.
Adam and I became friends in high school, where we spent an ample amount of afterschool time playing poker and billiards. We coincidently ended up in the same hall freshman year and rushed Pi Kappa Phi together. Like me, Adam has spent the better part of the last decade attending U of M. He will be spending the next several decades providing me with free medical advice!
Charlie joined Pi Kappa Phi in 2008, but our friendship really flourished when we spent a year living together in 2011-2012. Charlie and I enjoy sitting down over a beer to discuss all things related to the Lions, Tigers, Colts, and Red Sox. Aside from a brief four-month stint back in Indy, Charlie has lived across the street from Rach and I for the past three years.
When I first met Ryan he was just entering middle school. Over the past eight years we have cultivated the type of competitive spirit only reserved for brother-in-laws. Between our golf matches and our annual beach football game, we always have something going on. I look forward to beating him in these things for years to come.
Loo! Although we had a significant number of fights over music and slurping noises when we were younger, we sure made up for lost time once high school hit! Lindsay has been the best friend that I could have asked for. We had many great memories in high school, and were even lucky enough to share our love for U of M! Lindsay always has had my back, and will be a rock-star maid of honor!
